This podcast summarises our approach to series 1 and 2. We started with the importance of integrity and then took an ecological approach to consider ourselves, our relationships and our context. We discuss the importance of biology, behaviour and the environment in social work; and we look at how our approaches to attachment, emotional regulation and competence affect us.
This podcast gave some great observations about social work and helped me visualize being aware of things when it comes to social work. Integrity is crucial in social work because it establishes trust, credibility, and ethical behavior within the profession. Social workers are often in positions of power and influence over vulnerable populations, making it essential that they act with honesty, transparency, and moral principles. Clients rely on social workers to act in their best interests and provide honest and reliable support. Demonstrating integrity builds trust between social workers and clients, fostering a strong therapeutic relationship and promoting positive outcomes.
